|JESUS IS THE GOOD NEWS!
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)
Ever wonder how much God must love us, that He would give His Son? Ever ask yourself, "Would I have done that with my son?"
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," (Romans 3:23).
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23).
Sin has built a wall of separation between God and mankind. If we are ever to get close to God, sin must be dealt with.
"She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."(Matthew 1:21).
If someone is not aware of sin in his/her life, they will never see their need for Jesus.
MORE GOOD NEWS!
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." (John 10:10).
Jesus does more than merely forgive people of sin. He imparts a quality of life that has purpose and meaning; life that includes love, joy and peace.
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28).
Jesus wants us to come to Him now, just as we are, not trying to "clean up our act" first. He can give rest to our very souls.
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast." (Ephesians 2:8,9).
You can't earn forgiveness - but you can receive it - for free!
Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again." (John 3:3).
Asking Jesus to come into your heart, forgive your sins, and to lead you through life is the born again experience.
"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in..." (Revelations 3:20).
Jesus is knocking on the door of your heart.
Won't you welcome Him in?
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9).
You can pray something as simple as this:
thank You for sending Jesus.
I know that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness.
I want to turn away from my sins.
Jesus, please come into my heart.
I want to be born again.
I want to follow You.
Please make me the person You want me to be.
In Jesus' name, Amen!
"He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life." (1 John 5:12 & 13).
When you ask Jesus to come into your heart, God wants you to know that He forgives you. What happens next? Growth.
HOW CAN WE GROW?
1. Praying/talking with God.
2. Reading your Bible.
4. Telling others about Jesus.
